The UNESCO-Sabrina Ho “U40 Empowered” initiative invested in women entrepreneurs in the digital creative industries. It gave them the tools to realize their potential, expanding upon the work of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD). An enduring global gender gap means that women are less represented in the technical fields and in senior leadership positions, and have less access to opportunities to develop their skills. To celebrate women’s accomplishments in this field, U-40 Empowered concluded its multi-year program by training young women in Mexico, Palestine, Senegal and Tajikistan, and allowing them to create projects that advanced women within their country.
